Im in the area now,l. Unfortunately the stores are most nonexistent now. Most our a few places to eat or bars/grills which is fine but not really any more than that. The tunnel going from DOCO to Old Sac is very convenient but I wouldn’t go alone. It smells really bad in this area. It would be great if law enforcement was steadily in the tunnel. Wash this area down use heavy duty odorizer. It’s pretty to look at with little lights everywhere but nothing for a family to do except the movies.

I stopped by on a sunny afternoon while visiting Sacramento and wanted a place to walk around, grab something to eat, and check out the area near Golden 1 Center. The plaza was easy to get around, and I liked that there were places to sit, some shade, and a good mix of shops and restaurants close together. I grabbed a coffee first, then wandered through a few stores before walking toward Old Sacramento. One staff member in a shop helped me find a small local gift and answered my questions without making it feel like a sales pitch. The prices were about what I expected for a downtown area, and I still found a couple things that felt worth it. The area looked clean overall, and the signs for parking and the arena were pretty easy to follow. There was visible security around, which made the daytime visit feel comfortable. I did notice a lot of scooters and bikes moving through, so I had to pay attention while walking. I can see this being a convenient spot before a game, concert, or movie, especially with so many food and drink choices nearby. I would probably come back during the day or with a group in the evening.

Nice area with a lot of food and drink options. Neat and coean. Plenty place to sit down and relax.

If you’re visiting Sacramento, Golden 1 Center and the surrounding downtown area are worth spending some time at—even if you’re not attending a game. The architecture is striking, especially around sunset, and the plazas and public art make it a great spot for a relaxed walk and photos. A nice place to soak in the modern side of downtown Sacramento.

Visited December 17th and 18th. Great restaurants and shops are on the immediate area! Catch a game or concert and then enjoy everything this area has to offer! The skating rink is across the street from my picture along with Butcher and Barrel and Sauced just steps away! So fun to be at DOCO! Extra Security is in place! Btw...I feel totally safe during the day in this area but wouldn't personally venture out at night unless with a group.
